Conqueror
Did you know that if you’re a Christian, you’re on the team that will never lose? If you’re even a tad competitive, that excites you. We are victors, winners, conquerors. In fact, the Bible states that we are more than conquerors through God. Wow! That’s such great news. So, now that you know that about yourself, are you acting like you’re on the undefeated team? You no longer have to be a slave to sin. You can step up knowing that God has your back, He loves you, and He wants you to be strong and courageous.
“In all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.”
Romans 8:37
Here on Earth, we will have trials, so we better know how to step up and combat the enemy when he tries to strike. We can choose to read our Bible daily, constantly talk with God, have have Christian community, and tell others the Gospel. These elements help us grow as Christians and prepare us for life’s obstacles.
Remember, satan is a sore loser, and he knows he won’t be successful. In his sore loserness, he’s going to try to do what he can to ruin life for others (particularly people chasing after God). We know that he is looking to steal, kill, and destroy all the good. This means breaking up families, feeding addiction, inciting conflict, and generally ruining everything. Show up to the fight prepared and ready to battle.
Triggers
We cannot fully live in the promised land God has for us if we are still clinging to things we’re supposed to leave behind (or press on through). This can be past trauma, family drama, toiling in work, etc…This is where you have to do some digging, put in the work, and ask God about this for you personally.
Have you heard about triggers? It’s something that sets you off in a bad way. As a result of being triggered, byproducts can look like anxiety, anger, acting out, etc… It’s important to know what is triggering you, so you can combat it and even have a game plan going into situations. Not convinced you need to know your triggers or be prepared? Satan knows what triggers you, and he likes to poke the bear. Don’t get caught up in that silliness.
If you are having a hard time identifying those, pray about it! Journal, go to therapy, ask your inner circle, talk with your spouse. Find out what the source of your stress is, and learn to process through it. Pinpoint what it is, come up with a plan that works, and get a trusted person to keep you accountable. We dive deep into this, especially if you struggle with family holidays, so be sure to scroll up and press play.
